Throughout the year we will have student writers contribute pieces that share their thoughts about their experiences, music, and other topics. | by Hattie Nunley, Senior My experience at Kentucky's Governor's School for the Arts permanently changed my life. Surrounded by over two-hundred immensely talented individuals and immersed in such an open, eclectic, and diverse environment, I was enriched both musically and emotionally more than words can describe. Never had I felt more essentially human than during those three weeks spent on Centre's campus. Never had I understood the intrinsic creative and artistic capabilities of young people until I witnessed them for myself every day at GSA. GSA taught me to appreciate all art forms, celebrate individualism, and promote artistic expression as a central and vital part of community life. |
